There's a lot of debate amongst parents and ECPs about the efficacy of myopia control lenses versus eye drops. Each option has its merits.

Lenses that reshape the corneal (such as orthokeratology) or deviate the focus of light (multifocals) overnight can slow myopic progression. A lot of families enjoy them for the convenience you don’t even know it’s there, kids can wear cloth even during day time activities.

In the opposite direction, atropine eye drops have become popular in their potential to slow the progression of myopia. They are an appealing, non-invasive option?and need to be applied only once a day.

But?these drops can cause side effects, like blurry vision or sensitivity to light, in some patients. This fact causes many to take into account not only comfort, but lifestyle considerations when?deciding on a treatment.

This debate has been greatly influenced by personal?taste. For?personalized guidance, a pediatric optometrist must be consulted.
