Vilitra (vardenafil), a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction, should only be taken with cancer if approved by your doctor. Whether it’s safe depends on the type of cancer, stage, current treatments, and overall health.

Cancer itself doesn’t always rule out ED treatment, but certain cancer treatments—such as chemotherapy, radiation, or hormone therapy—can affect heart function, blood pressure, and liver or kidney function. These factors are important because Vilitra can interact with medications or worsen conditions like low blood pressure or heart arrhythmias.

If you are taking cancer medications such as nitrates, alpha-blockers, or certain chemotherapy drugs, combining them with VILITRA may lead to serious interactions. Additionally, if cancer has affected organs involved in drug metabolism (like the liver or kidneys), your body may not process vardenafil properly.

Before taking Vilitra, your doctor will assess your cardiac health and current medication regimen. In some cases, a lower dose may be considered, or a different ED treatment approach may be recommended.

Never self-medicate with Vilitra if you have cancer. Always seek guidance from your oncologist or urologist to ensure it’s safe and appropriate for your situation.
