Malegra, which contains Sildenafil Citrate as its active ingredient, can cause visual disturbances in some users. Malegra is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) by increasing blood flow to the penis, but its action on blood vessels and PDE5 enzymes can also affect the eyes, leading to temporary vision-related side effects.

Common Visual Disturbances
Some men who take Malegra may experience:

Blurred vision

Sensitivity to light (photophobia)

Changes in color vision — especially difficulty distinguishing between blue and green

A bluish tint to vision (cyanopsia)

These effects are generally mild and temporary, occurring within a few hours after taking the medication and typically resolving as the drug wears off.

Why Do These Side Effects Occur?
Sildenafil not only inhibits PDE5 (which improves blood flow to the penis) but can also affect PDE6, an enzyme found in the retina. This interference may lead to changes in how the eyes process light and color.

When to Seek Help
If visual disturbances persist, worsen, or include sudden vision loss, you should stop taking MALEGRA and seek immediate medical attention. This could indicate a rare but serious side effect known as NAION (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy).

Always consult a healthcare provider before starting or continuing Malegra, especially if you have a history of eye conditions.
