Filitra, like other medications that treat erectile dysfunction (ED) such as Viagra (Sildenafil) or Levitra (Vardenafil), contains Vardenafil as the active ingredient. The reason Filitra (or any other Vardenafil-based medication) can cause side effects like headaches and dizziness is due to how it works in the body. Here’s why these side effects can happen: 1. Vasodilation (Blood Vessel Relaxation): Vardenafil works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which results in the relaxation of smooth muscles and increased blood flow to the penis. While this is great for treating ED, it can also lead to a widening of blood vessels (vasodilation) throughout the body, Filitra the blood vessels in the brain. Headaches: The vasodilation can cause an increase in blood flow to the head, leading to headaches or even a sensation of pressure in the skull. Dizziness: The same mechanism of blood vessel dilation can cause a drop in blood pressure, especially when standing up quickly (known as orthostatic hypotension). This drop in blood pressure can lead to feelings of dizziness or lightheadedness. 2. Effect on Blood Pressure: While Vardenafil is not a blood pressure medication, it can lower blood pressure slightly. This can make some people feel a bit dizzy or lightheaded, especially when transitioning from a sitting or lying position to standing.
