Malegra Oral Jelly is not primarily intended for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension. Its main use is for erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. However, the active ingredient in Malegra Oral Jelly — Sildenafil Citrate — is also used in a different form and dosage to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) under brand names like Revatio. So, why the confusion? The confusion arises because Sildenafil Citrate, the same chemical compound in both Malegra Oral Jelly and Malegra Oral Jelly , has two FDA-approved uses: As Viagra (or Malegra) – for erectile dysfunction (at doses like 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg). As Revatio – for pulmonary arterial hypertension (commonly at lower doses like 20 mg, 3 times a day) How Sildenafil Treats Pulmonary Hypertension: In pulmonary hypertension, the blood vessels in the lungs are constricted, increasing pressure and making it harder for the heart to pump blood through them. Sildenafil helps by: Relaxing smooth muscle in the lung arteries. Reducing pulmonary blood pressure. Improving exercise capacity and overall heart function. Why Malegra Oral Jelly is not used for PAH: Dosage: Malegra Oral Jelly typically contains 100 mg of sildenafil, far above the 20 mg used for PAH. Formulation: The oral jelly form is optimized for rapid absorption and erectile response, not sustained blood pressure control. Medical supervision: Treating PAH requires careful monitoring by a cardiologist or pulmonologist. Using high-dose sildenafil (like in Malegra) without medical oversight can be dangerous.
