Ceramic dental implants are tooth root replacements made from zirconia, a strong and biocompatible ceramic material. Unlike traditional dental implants, which are typically made of titanium, ceramic implants are metal-free and are often chosen for their aesthetic appeal and compatibility with individuals who have metal sensitivities. They are white in color, closely resembling natural teeth, which makes them especially suitable for use in visible areas of the mouth. Additionally, ceramic implants have low plaque affinity and may reduce the risk of gum inflammation. While they are a newer option compared to titanium, ceramic implants have shown promising long-term success rates and are increasingly being used in modern dentistry.
