Sending Multimedia Photos and Videos: Tap the attachment icon (paperclip) and choose "Gallery" or "Camera" to send photos and videos. Documents: Select "Document" to send files like PDFs, Word documents, etc. Voice Messages: Hold the microphone icon to record and send a voice message. Location: Select "Location" to share your current location. Contacts: Choose "Contact" to share someone else's contact information. 5. Making Voice and Video Calls Voice Call: Open a chat with the person you want to call and tap the phone icon. Video Call: Tap the video camera icon to start a video call. Group Calls: Start a call with one person, then tap "Add Participant" to include more people. 6. Creating and Managing Groups Create a Group: Tap the chat icon, then select "New Group". Add participants from your contacts, set a group name, and add a group icon. Send Messages: Type and send messages to the group just like in individual chats. Group Settings: Tap the group name to access settings where you can manage participants, set group rules, and mute notifications. 7. Using Broadcast Lists Create Broadcast List: Go to the chat screen, tap the menu (three dots) on Android or "Broadcast Lists" on iOS, and select "New broadcast". Add contacts and send your message. Broadcast Messages: Recipients receive the message as an individual chat, maintaining privacy. 8. Utilizing Status Updates Post a Status: Tap the "Status" tab, then the camera or pencil icon to add a photo, video, or text status. This update lasts for 24 hours. View Statuses: Tap on a contact's status update to view it. 9. Customizing Notifications Notification Settings: Go to WhatsApp Settings > Notifications to customize tones, vibration, and pop-ups. Mute Conversations: In any chat, tap the menu (three dots) and select "Mute notifications" to silence alerts from that chat for a specified period. 10. Using WhatsApp Web Web Access: Open a browser and go to web.whatsapp.com. Open WhatsApp on your phone, go to Settings > WhatsApp Web, and scan the QR code on the browser with your phone. Desktop Use: You can now send and receive messages from your computer. 11. Privacy and Security End-to-End Encryption: WhatsApp automatically encrypts all messages, calls, and shared media. Two-Step Verification: Enable this feature in Settings > Account > Two-step verification to add an extra layer of security. Privacy Settings: Adjust who can see your profile picture, status, and last seen information in Settings > Account > Privacy.
