Fildena is a medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It contains the active ingredient sildenafil citrate, which belongs to a class of medications called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. Here's how Fildena affects blood flow to the penis:

When a man is sexually aroused, the release of nitric oxide (NO) in the erectile tissue of the penis stimulates an enzyme called guanylate cyclase. This enzyme increases levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which relaxes smooth muscles in the blood vessels of the penis, allowing them to dilate. This dilation increases blood flow into the erectile tissue, causing an erection. However, an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) breaks down cGMP, leading to a decrease in blood flow and loss of erection. Fildena inhibits PDE5, allowing cGMP to accumulate and prolonging the dilation of blood vessels in the penis, thereby enhancing and maintaining an erection.

By inhibiting PDE5, Fildena helps to increase the concentration of cGMP in the erectile tissue of the penis. This leads to smooth muscle relaxation and vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) in the penile arteries. As a result, more blood can flow into the penis during sexual stimulation, producing a firmer and longer-lasting erection.

Fildena 150 typically takes effect within 30 to 60 minutes after ingestion and remains effective for about 4 to 6 hours. During this time, it helps sustain the erectile response by maintaining elevated levels of cGMP in the penis.

While Fildena can effectively improve erectile function in many men, it's essential to use it as prescribed by a healthcare provider. Like all medications, Fildena may cause side effects and interactions with other drugs. Common side effects include headache, flushing, indigestion, nasal congestion, and visual disturbances. It's crucial to discuss any pre-existing medical conditions and medications with a doctor before starting Fildena therapy to ensure safety and efficacy.
