Peripheral neuropathic pain is a type of chronic pain caused by nerve damage in the hands and feet, which can occur as a result of diseases such as diabetes or shingles. The hands and feet may feel hot, searing, throbbing, shooting, stabbing, sharp, cramping, hurting, tingling, numbness, or pins and needles.
